Summer Associate Program

Sorling Northrup holds itself to the highest standards and offers a wide range of opportunities to summer associates.

Sorling Northrup generally hires students who have completed their second year of law school to spend ten to twelve weeks working at the firm. Successful candidates have excellent academic credentials and often participate in a variety of law school activities.  The firm also considers whether an applicant has a significant interest in returning to the Springfield area to practice law after graduation.

The summer program provides the associate with the opportunity to work with multiple attorneys in different practice areas. Additionally, the associate will have the ability to attend court proceedings and engage with clients along with completing research projects and drafting memoranda.

The firm often recruits new associates through the Summer program.  Many of the firm’s current attorneys are former summer associates.
