Michelle L. Blackburn

Michelle L. Blackburn joined Sorling Northrup in 2010. Prior to her arrival at Sorling, Ms. Blackburn practiced for nine years in Springfield, Illinois, concentrating her practice in family law, including dissolution of marriage, child custody, visitation, child support, paternity and adoption. She was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 2001. In addition to her family law practice, Ms. Blackburn practices in the areas of estate planning, estate litigation and immigration law.

During her law school career at The John Marshall Law School, Ms. Blackburn was a member of the Moot Court executive board.

She is a member of the American, Illinois State, Central Illinois Women’s and Sangamon County Bar Associations, and is a past officer of the Central Illinois Women’s Bar Association. Ms. Blackburn has argued before the Illinois Appellate Court for the Fourth & Fifth Districts and the Illinois Supreme Court.
