E-mail: jswilliams@sorlinglaw.com J. Scott Williams joined Sorling, Northrup, Hanna, Cullen & Cochran, Ltd., in 2010. Prior to joining Sorling, Mr. Williams served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Western District of Louisiana, where he prosecuted a range of federal criminal cases in U.S. District Court, including white collar crime, drug trafficking, violent crimes, and violations of federal firearms laws.
Before becoming a federal prosecutor, Mr. Williams served as an active-duty officer in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps, prosecuting and later defending criminal cases in trials by court-martial. His time in the military was preceded by employment as an associate at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton in New York, advising clients in the areas of corporate law and regulatory compliance. Mr. Williams graduated from Duke University School of Law in 2002, where he was a member of the editorial board of the Duke Law Journal.
Mr. Williams concentrates his practice in the fields of business advising, transactions, and employment law. He also represents clients in commercial and employment litigation.
