Brian D. Jones joined Sorling, Northrup, Hanna, Cullen & Cochran in 2006. He graduated from law school in 2005 and was admitted to practice law in Illinois that same year. He concentrates his practice in the areas of health law, employment law, transactions, real estate and commercial litigation.
Mr. Jones advises health care providers in the areas of employee benefits, contract drafting and negotiation, tax exemption and compliance. He has experience drafting plan documents, summary plan descriptions and amendments to employee benefit plans and providing compliance advice to for-profit and tax-exempt entities with regards to their employee benefit plans. His business law practice includes advising clients on formation issues, contract negotiation and drafting, real estate transactions and commercial litigation.
Mr. Jones is a member of the American, Illinois State and Sangamon County Bar Associations and serves on the board of directors of Helping Hands of Springfield, Inc. He was a member of the Leadership Springfield class of 2006-2007. Mr. Jones has spoken at numerous seminars on topics including business entity formation, employee benefits and tax-exemption. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Benedictine University in Springfield where he taught health care law and at Robert Morris University where he taught business law.
