B. Hoffmann has been a member of Sorling, Northrup, Hanna, Cullen & Cochran, Ltd. since 1988, joining the firm after 20 years of
practice as partner in the Springfield firm of Hoffmann and Hoffmann.
He has focused his practice in probate, estate planning, real estate,
and agricultural law.
Mr. Hoffmann has represented a broad range of clients: individual,
charitable, and corporate. For several years, he served as local
counsel to Springfield's largest bank. His legal writing has
included contributions to Illinois State Bar Association publications
and
to the Illinois Eminent Domain Practice Handbook published by
the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education.
A life-long resident of Springfield, Mr. Hoffmann attended Springfield
public schools and Swarthmore College. He graduated from the
University of Chicago in philosophy (Ph.B., 1963), and continued
as a graduate
student-at-large in political philosophy. He received his Juris
Doctor from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1967).
Mr. Hoffmann is engaged in community work, including leadership
positions with historical, fine arts, and religious organizations.
