Emily B. Cour joined Sorling, Northrup, Hanna,
Cullen & Cochran, Ltd. in 2005 upon graduation from law school.
She was admitted to practice law in Illinois in November of that
year. She concentrates her practice in the areas of health law,
estate planning, trust and estate administration, transactions,
and real estate.
Ms. Cour graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a
degree in Business Administration (B.A. cum laude, 2005) and received
her Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law. During
her law school career, Ms. Cour served as an Editor on the
Saint Louis University Law Journal and interned with Judge Lawrence
G. Crahan of the Missouri Court of Appeals.
Ms. Cour’s health law practice includes advising health
care providers on compliance, STARK, fraud and abuse, contract
negotiations and other operational and transactional concerns. Ms. Cour was a member of the 2005-2006 Leadership Springfield
class and was selected to the 2007 Springfield Business Journal’s “Forty
Under 40” list of central Illinois business leaders. She
is a member of the American, Illinois State, Central Illinois Women’s
and Sangamon County Bar Associations, the American Health Lawyers
Association and the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys.
