James D. Broadway maintains membership in the American
Academy of Hospital Attorneys and the Illinois Association of Healthcare
Attorneys, and has actively practiced in the health care field,
representing hospitals, mental health and drug-treatment clinics,
physicians and a variety of allied health professionals, since
1972. His representation of hospitals has encompassed a myriad
of issues, including the creation of multi-tiered non-profit health
care systems, involving both tax-exempt and for profit participants,
physician practice acquisitions and investment joint ventures,
physician employment contracts, medical staff credentialing and
disciplinary actions, and tax-exempt bond financings.
In addition to his health care practice, Mr. Broadway has represented
numerous clients in connection with the establishment of various
business entities, including corporations, partnerships and limited
liability companies, the acquisition of other businesses and
the sale of business interests. He has extensive experience
representing
commercial real estate developers in the central Illinois area,
and he has advised commercial lenders with respect to the structuring
and documentation of their commercial business and real estate
loans.
