Michelle L. Blackburn joined Sorling, Northrup, Hanna, Cullen & Cochran, Ltd. in 2010. Prior to her arrival at Sorling, Ms. Blackburn practiced for nine (9) years in Springfield, Illinois concentrating her practice in family law, including dissolution of marriage, child custody, visitation, child support and paternity. She was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 2001.

During her law school career at The John Marshall Law School, Ms. Blackburn was a member of the Moot Court executive board.

She is a member of the American, Illinois State, Central Illinois Women’s and Sangamon County Bar Associations, and is a past officer of the Central Illinois Women’s Bar Association. Ms. Blackburn is also a member of the General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association. Ms. Blackburn has argued before the Illinois Appellate Court, 4th District and the Illinois Supreme Court.
